High temperature, high pressure, friction, wear and corrosion are some of the inevitable challenges that test the how far a material can endure before it fails. Such conditions put varying degrees of pressure to those materials to say the least. These same conditions among others influence the way materials are made. In view of the fact that each material is supposed to serve a particular application, they're tailored to be a suitable fit. An example is the Xylan coated bolts. A certain type of coating is applied to them because that is what was dictated by the application they will be used for.
